Cheer and camaraderie abounded in a splendid setting as Ashish Kumar Rai, GM, The Westin Mumbai Garden City and Nicholas Ord, brand ambassador, Diageo – Reserve hosted an exclusive food and whisky pairing to launch the start of Chef Angad Rai’s journey at Kangan.
Yes, Kangan, the hotel’s signature fine-dining restaurant offering authentic Indian cuisine set in contemporary surroundings and renowned for northwest-frontier cuisine, was the happy venue for a fantastic feast.
The night began at Eighteen The Lounge on the 18th floor of the hotel with cool cocktails with Johnnie Walker Gold Label. Then the guests proceeded next door to Kangan for the night with Blue Label and an exquisite blend of select dishes from the enhanced menu paired with Diageo’s reserve brand portfolio.
There were appetizers of lotus stem, homemade hung curd, chicken and lamb with Johnnie Walker Gold Label Reserve, followed by mains of lamb shank, chicken, cluster beans and pine nuts, Kashmiri royal apple and lentils with Johnnie Walker Double Black Label, two styles of fragrant biryanis with Johnnie Walker Platinum 18 Label and, finally, darling desserts with Johnnie Walker Blue Label Digestif.
Whew, what a night!
