Lalit Dalmia’s ‘Coupe Mélange’ show was a line of futuristic bikinis and zombie-themed bridal wear influenced by Gothic tones at IBFW.
Divided into two segments, the extremely dramatic collection used fabrics like taffeta, Lycra and satin in eyecatching wine, peach, blue and green. Daring and definitely not for the faint-hearted, the women’s beachwear line featured tasselled, fringed, and frilled bikinis, embellished with cones, appliques, sequins and baubles.
In the destination wedding line, luxurious fabrics like brocade and silk, along with tulle, taffeta and neoprene were used unpredictably in a surreal show that had amazing zombie makeup and even zombie walk.
The men’s wedding line featured cowls, Jodhpurs and dhoti pants teamed with jackets, bundhgalas or sherwanis, also dazzling with embroidery and weaves. And complementing the dark and striking look of the entire ensemble, the makeup focused on black eye-shadow and dark lips that perfectly highlighted the models’ wild, unruly hairdos.
