Arzan Shad’s dazzling Indo-western collection, titled ‘Baari’ (Punjabi for ‘window’) at IBFW rekindled ancient glamour and grace on the ramp. Inspired by the windows in old havelis and floral vines and creepers that cast playful shadows on them, the novel assortment featured beautifully crafted patterns with applique and threadwork.
Bold primary colours with white, beige, aqua and rust highlights danced along the ramp, complemented by rich summer fabrics like georgette, chanderi and cotton silk. The collection featured ethnic wear with contemporary appeal. Memorable designs included a fiery-red kurta and white palazzos embroidered with all-over vines and flowers and vivid lehengas with ornate gold embroidery, heavy dupattas and tiny low-back cholis.
And in keeping with the grace and elegance that marked the entire collection, the models looked striking with dark, smoky eye makeup and elegantly coiled twists in the hair.
