Inspired by Paul Bhonsale’s iconic Christian art, James Ferreira’s ‘Byzindiantyne’ collection, presented by Tresmode at IBFW, saw a dazzling array of 60 garments in a fast-paced show, with a stunning line of ghagras, saris, kurtas, jackets, trousers and shirts.
Digital prints with exquisite detailing were the focal point of the collection, creatively brought to the limelight in rich Indian hues. The colour palette played with enticing lime green, old rose, pink, ink blue, yellow, black, white and orange, on opulent raw silk, viscose, cotton, and georgette fabrics, with finely-pleated silk and heavy crépe adding to the drama and grace of the collection.
The sheer green flared skirt and blouse and draped minis and togas gave the pleated and printed story a new dimension. Sheaths were sensuous with front slits while the drawstring cowl pants in mustard were ideal for beach soirees.
The menswear segment showcased ten crisply tailored garments, sheer black and white muscle sleeve tunics teamed with piped track pants, and blousons with shorts. Chunky beaded bracelets, neckpieces and matching earrings accessorized the collection, while the footwear set just the right Indo-western note with gladiators, loafers, lace-ups and boots.
