A nice thing about Lakme Fashion Week is the VIP lounge. And a nice thing about the VIP lounge is the new spirits that they introduce. At Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2015 guests got a taste of King of Scots blended Scotch whisky at the lounge orchestrated by Flipsydee.
First created in 1886, each bottle proudly bears Scotland’s Lion Rampant, used by the Kings of Scotland for hundreds of years. It comes from the Glasgow-based Douglas Laing & Co., independent Scotch whisky bottlers and blenders headed by Fred Laing who succeeded his father Fred Douglas Laing who founded the company in 1948. In 2013, Fred enlisted the third generation of Laings and brought in his daughter Cara, believing in the ethos of women in whisky.
Guests at the lounge enjoyed the tasting notes of this Scotch: Nose: honey, ginger and spice, followed by fresh citrus with just a hint of liquorice. Palate: sweetness of ripe fruit and luscious toffee, complemented by clean vanilla. Finish: beautifully balanced with lighter vanilla and more sweet spice.
