The art and science of mixing colours, embellishments, textures and fabrics, was the basis of Riddhi Majithia’s collection called ‘The Vintage Klatch’ at IBFW.
There were elements of New Vintage with a dandy touch and hints of casual chic. Riddhi played with Indian ethnic wear and added large doses of super style. Bright pop colours suddenly emerged from pastels. The soothing tones were turned by the designer into a romantic offering for that special day. Dainty flowers played a fashion medley with tantalising tassels, while she gave motifs like vintage birds, bird cages, floral sprays and chandeliers pride of place with unusual craft treatment.
Glamour was the core of the collection as sequined bodices were the mainstay of the gowns, while crochet with 3D flowers added to the glam quotient of the creations. Drop waist sea green glittering gown with ruffled skirt, a pearl encrusted creation, tulle covers for silk maxis and the gorgeous navy velvet lehenga with colourful parrot embroidery added drama to the line. The floral hairbands and halos on the head were the perfect hair ornaments for the stunning creations.
And closing the show was perky Bollywood star Amyra Dastoor who looked stunning in a grey shimmering checked lehenga with cascading giant 3D flowers, matching choli and a colourful floral hairband.
