Hot by the pool was what it was at Manoviraj Khosla’s show at Gionee India Beach Fashion Week at The Lalit Golf & Spa Resort, Goa. Titled ‘Life,’ the collection was fun and stylish as models moved to the music of Bangalore-based band Best Kept Secrets with their rendition of songs like ‘Pretty Woman.’
The male models were seen in cool linen and regal velvet, featuring laser-cut techniques and narrow-fitted silhouettes. The menswear line included sherwanis and bundhgala jackets in black with heavy embellishments, vivid suits in a kaleidoscope of orange, red, acid green, pink and maroon, as well as capris in neutral hues accompanied by trendy duffel bags.
Sexy and sensuous as ever, the women’s collection featured bikinis in a mélange of colours, splashed with embroidery and embellishments. Other dominant designs included sparkling black and sequined creations with sheer backs and tantalizing boleros with micro-minis. A backless tie-up dress and a jumpsuit with cascading neck frills were particularly striking, as were the assortment of printed sleek dresses.
Bold digital prints in seductive and clingy synthetic fabric completed the after-dark look, but the highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the stunning bikini line-up by ten models on the poolside bridge, paired with sheer covers, ponchos and tasseled capes – a glittering and fitting conclusion to a highly-energy show.
