It was raining awards and accolades at the star-studded 6th Jagran Film Festival awards night at JW Marriott. There was a standing ovation as veteran actor Shashi Kapoor was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award.
Dulal Sarkar won Best Actor (Male) for his outstanding performance in ‘Chotoder Chobi’and Bhumi Pednekar bagged Best Actor (Female) award for her portrayal of Sandhya in ‘Dum Laga Ke Haisha.’ Other awards included Best Director to Shoojit Sarkar for his much-loved slice-of-life film ‘Piku,’ Best Debut Director to Neeraj Ghaywan for ‘Masaan,’ Best Screenplay to Juhi Chaturvedi for ‘Piku’ and Best Editing to Pooja Ladha Surti for ‘Badlapur.’
Stand-up comedy acts peppered the proceedings. There was a standing ovation once again, this time as veteran makeup artiste Pandhari Juker was honoured for his magical makeup strokes that have beautified many Indian actresses over the last six decades with an Outstanding Contribution to Indian Cinema title.
And after that it was time for Chivas and Ketel One at the bar followed by a bountiful buffet dinner.
