After the super success of Colaba Social, Impresario steps up the cheer with the opening of the second Social in town, Todi Mill Social, a sprawling 7,000 sq. ft. space inside a loom mill in Lower Parel.
Happy host Riyaaz Amlani looked happier still when his wife Kiran surprised him by singing some of his favourite songs. The crowd, including Rashmi Nigam, Minissha Lamba, Krsna Mehta, Shriya Saran, Vikram Raizada, A D Singh, Nisha Harale, Shabir Ahluwalia, Anushka Manchanda, Shonali Nagrani, Rohit Roy, Lekha Washington, Nicole Sottung and hundreds of others, just loved her. And they loved Todi Mill Social as they sipped beer, wine, straight drinks or cocktails with names like Trip on the Drip, Aacharoska, Screw Social Driver and The Schizophrenia.
And here’s a description of the Social (so well-written by the PR people): Social is an all-day café and bar where you can work and play with fun drinks and comfort food served with a large helping of the unorthodox. It’s also the land of the free (lancer) and home of creative souls looking for an exhilarating alternative to a typical workday. It’s a path-breaking urban hangout that’s designed to take you offline while still keeping you connected; a place where networking can happen even if the net’s not working (don’t worry, the net’s always working). It’s a space where artists meet designers and innovators meet entrepreneurs meet photographers, writers meet web developers, and creative independents meet to bounce ideas off like-minded peers. So what do you know, it might just be time to press the ‘delete’ key on your typical workday.
